Meet the Pacific Team: Part 9: Ferdie Mostert, Managing Director, Transportation and Integrated Controls

How long have you been in Johnson Controls?
I joined the business in 1987 and have held various roles throughout my 31 years at Johnson Controls.
What is your background (education and previous places of employment and roles)?
I completed education through University of Queensland and Melbourne Business School and achieved a Diploma in Business Administration and Master of Business Administration.
I started my career as a Software Engineer and progressed through various Sales and Operational Management roles in my career. I have worked at Plessy South Africa, Plessy Tellumat, Plessy Australia, Tyco Traffic and Transportation, Tyco Security Products, and Tyco Transportation and Integrated Security. I am currently the Managing Director, Johnson Controls, Transportation and Integrated Controls.
What is your core responsibility in the business?
My core responsibility is to provide strategic and operational leadership to the Transportation and Integrated Controls organisation, in the most profitable direction while also implementing its vision, mission and long term goals.
What do you enjoy about working at Johnson Controls?
I enjoy the daily interface with our staff, customers and the opportunities the organisation presents for both personal development and career progression.
